Abstract:
This seminar is devoted to presenting work in progress in the field of mathematical modelling and model-based analysis of cell-based biological processes. We focus on mathematical theory underlying model derivation, reduction, well-posedness and long-term dynamics. The seminar is based on projects related to different classes of differential equations models, their analysis and applications. The specific topics include:
  • compartmental and structured population models of cell production systems,
  • reaction-diffusion equation for pattern formation,
  • partial differential equations models of cancer growth.
